Illnesses
Parents need to be proactive and notify the school nurse of any health issues that are going on with your children that are students here. It is very important that illnesses are tracked, followed up on, and proper treatments done. This does make a difference with the over all health of the entire school. Illnesses can be easily passed on to other children and adults. We all need to be safe and keep as healthy as possible. Please do not hesitate to call my office with any concerns or questions
FIGHTING THE FLU
Helpful hints
Cover your mouth when coughing. If a tissue is not available, students can use their inner elbow area to sneeze or cough into. Do not use hands to cover your face. HANDWASHING HANDWASHING !!!! Please encourage good handwashing with your children. Teach them to sing Happy Birthday twice while washing. This provides adequate time to kill germs. Stay home when sick. Sick children do not learn while being sick at school. Please remember to follow school health policy when deciding if it is appropriate for children to be at school. Children need to be fever free for 24 hours after fever breaks without any fever reducing medications. Also, monitor amount of secretions coming from your child's mouth and nose. Many germs are passed on with mouth and nasal secretions. If your child is sneezing or coughing excessively, they should stay home to prevent spread of germs. When in doubt, please call the school nurse!! Lastly, get vaccinated and report this to the school nurse.
