Principal’s Corner –

What a surprise it was to get an early snowstorm in October!   Mother Nature certainly played a Halloween TRICK on us, and with all the downed trees, limbs, and power outages; it definitely was not a TREAT.   Hopefully we will not get any more snow until winter!

Recently, the State of Massachusetts got good news from the Federal Government.  For the fourth year in a row, Massachusetts’ Grade 4 and 8 students scored 1st or tied for 1st in reading and math.  The state came in 1st in Grade 4 reading and in Grade 8 math.  The state tied for 1st in Grade 4 math and in Grade 8 reading.

Last year, the Falls School was the only elementary school in North Attleboro that took the National Assessment of Educational Progress test.  The test was given to our fourth grade in February 2011, and the students worked very hard.  We do not get individual and/or school scores for this test but we do get a score for the state of Massachusetts.  I am happy to report that Massachusetts came in first in the nation on the National Assessment Test.   Congratulations to the current fifth grade students who took this test last year!  We are very proud of their achievement.

All of our students have settled nicely into the new school year and have adjusted to their new routines and classrooms.  The Staff and I are looking forward to another exciting and enriching school year.
