North Attleborough Middle and High School Students Excel on National Foreign Language Exams

This April three hundred and sixty-five North Attleboro Middle and High School students completed the National French and Spanish Exams.  The National French and Spanish Exams have been administered across the United States for over fifty years and are the most widely used assessment of French and Spanish mastery in the nation.  This year approximately 100,00 students nationwide completed one of the six French exams including one hundred and eighty-five North students.  The various Spanish exams were administered to over 115,000 students including one hundred and eighty students at NAHS.  North students excelled with sixty-nine combined French and Spanish students earning national rankings.  Below are the award winners for each exam. Felicitaciones and félicitations to all those who participated.
Middle and High School French Exam Winners
• National Laureates –Awarded to the students with the top 10 scores in each level nationwide. Eight Graders John Beadle 4th place, Daniel Colvin and Catherine Roukhadze 7th place, Stephen Lunde 8th place, Thomas Mendillo 10th place and Eleventh Grader William Palmer 10th place.
• Honors with Distinction – Awarded to students scoring in the 80th% or above across the nation. Grade 7 Marcos Nakhla 13th place; Grade 8 Korey Dufault, Neil Bhambani and William Micelli 12th place; Grade 9 Rachelle Hunt 15th place and Grade 11 Filipa Estrela 16th place.
• Honorable Mention - Kyle Aptt, Robin Armstrong, Lauren Dunn, Emily Glennon, Ian McDonald, Frances Palmer, Nicholas Schaefer, Emily Tierney and Elizabeth Wallace.
High School Spanish Exam Winners
• Scoring in the 95th to 100th percentile in the nation and earning a Gold Medal were John Carmichael, Heather Davis, Sydney Lambert, Dana Brown, Samantha LaFratta, Emily Davis, Connor Devers, Heather Krasner and Kyle Orfan.
• Scoring in the 85th to 94th percentile and earning a Silver Medal were Wesley Dunham, Molly Hillis, Haylee Nugent, Shalini Paliwal, Jackson Riseman, Ariana Roy, Yan Sherry, Nicole Chahwan, Luke Comerford, James Connelly, Veronica Coyle, Michael Curley, Sean Greenhalge, Katelyn Mullen, Ty Sweeney, Ryan Flannery, Jillian Gabriel, Tashfia Hasan, Justin Ismail, Ian Korslund, Tristan Richardson and Kelli Brodbeck. 
• Scoring in the 75th to 84th percentile and earning a Bronze Medal were George Bradley, Laura Goodman, Alexandra Harbour, Rachel Iaconis, Allison Krasner, Hannah McCarthy, Matthew McKim, Quinn Scanlan, Hayley Sheaff, Brielle Albertini, Jessica-Lynn Botteri, Jessica Chen, Joshua Darling, Emily Gardner, Natasha Gavilanez, Adam Gifford, Adam Whitney, Charles Amaya, Alexander Goldman, Kaylee Henriques, Jennah Jacobs, Daniel Johnson, Matthew Kelleher, Jeffrey Mark, Rukshini Perera and Jordan Roberts.
