About Our School
Roosevelt Avenue School is a neighborhood-based elementary school presently housing kindergarten through grade 5. The kindergarten is a half-day morning and afternoon program. There are two classrooms of grades 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. There are presently 262 students with an average class size of 21. Our student population usually ranges between 250 and 260 students.
Grades 1, 2, and 3 are self-contained. A modified, departmentalized approach is used in grades 4 and 5. The North Attleboro Elementary Schools’ curriculum has been aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. The latest NCLB Report Card reported that Roosevelt is a Very High Performing School in ELA and a High Performing School in Mathematics.
Special Needs programs include Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Counseling, ELL services, and a Resource Room (pull-out and inclusion). Two paraprofessionals assist the Resource Room teacher in both pull-out and inclusion efforts.
Roosevelt Avenue School has a veteran, experienced staff with an average of 18 years of experience. The school’s administrator is in his fifth year as principal at Roosevelt, previously serving as an elementary classroom teacher for seven years and as an Assistant Principal/Principal for six years in the Southborough, MA school system.
Facilities include a Library, Computer Center, and an All-Purpose Room. There is an active Parent-Teacher Organization. Our school’s motto is “Building a Brighter Future Together.”
